Job Title: Distribution Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated Distribution Engineers for a one-year contract with the potential to transition to a direct hire. This role involves both field and remote work, contributing to the connection of new homes and commercial businesses to the energy grid, as well as upgrading existing connections. The selected candidates will start by conducting fieldwork to gather notes, pictures, and measurements, which will inform the creation of electrical drawings and analysis. Responsibilities include conducting engineering calculations, selecting materials, and creating a Bill of Materials (BOM) through the SAP software system. The comprehensive electrical work package produced will be utilized by utility company field installation teams.
Hard Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or Associates Degree with relevant experience)
Experience working with an electric utility or electric engineering consulting company
Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design programs)
Power delivery knowledge
Soft Skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills for daily interactions with supervisors, peers, and customers
Attention to detail in both field and office settings
