Johnson Controls Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist, İzmir in Izmir, Turkey

What you will do

As an Environment Health and Safety Specialist at Johnson Controls İzmir plant, you will be at the forefront of implementing environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies and programs. Reporting directly to the Senior EHS Manager in Continental Europe, your role will involve advising the organization on regulatory changes, investigating minor incidents, and ensuring that risks are effectively addressed. You will oversee EHS reporting and documentation in compliance with both internal and external standards. Additionally, you will supervise and participate in the development and delivery of training programs for employees on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.

How you will do

  • Implement and maintain EHS policies and programs.

  • Advise the organization on regulatory changes and compliance requirements.

  • Investigate minor incidents and ensure appropriate risk mitigation measures are in place.

  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and Job Safety Analysis to mitigate potential risks in the workplace.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop policies, procedures, and training programs related to food safety.

  • Provide guidance on good manufacturing practices (GMPs) to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors for implanting HSE rules at sites and ensure the HSE contract clauses are compiled.

  • Oversee EHS reporting and documentation to meet internal and external standards.

  • Develop and deliver training programs on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Collaborate with EHS supervisors and other stakeholders to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Ensure continuous improvement of HSE performance by conducting regular audits and coordinate third party audits.

What we look for

Required

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certification as a Class B Occupational Safety Expert.

  • Strong knowledge of EHS Management Systems, certified Lead auditor ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 and preferably ISO 9001

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in an EHS role.

  • Fluency in English

  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.

  • Excellent communication and training skills.

  • Ability to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

  • Proficiency in EHS reporting and documentation.

  • Experince in Energy and Waste management

  • Current valid driver licence

Preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Certification in EHS or related fields.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
