($4,000 SIGN ON BONUS)

Title : Food Service Specialist - SRO (1575)

Location: SRO Ithaca, NY

Schedule: Friday-Monday 12:30p-5:30p

Salary: Salary pay range is min. $16.38 to a max. $21.33 per hr. based on education & experience (evening & overnight hours may qualify for a shift differential)

    Essential Job Functions Overview

    Individual will perform a variety of food preparation duties. Responsible for large scale preparation for a 38-bed community residence. Responsible for ensuring that all foods are prepared to meet dietary needs of residents and are in accordance with all the health and safety regulations.

  • See that resident needs are met while providing a positive dining experience.

  • Handle food, dishes and utensils according to agency standards and health and safety regulations.

  • Responsible for proper waste disposal and maintenance of waste receptacles.

  • Responsible for the proper recycling of all recyclable goods.

  • Responsible for the dishwashing/cleaning and sanitizing of pots, pans, trays, and all other dishware in the kitchen.

  • Responsible for sweeping and mopping work areas.

  • Follow all food safety protocols when preparing, serving, storing, and disposing of food.

  • Perform any other duties necessary for successful operation of the program.

    Experience, Education, & Physical Qualifications

    Any combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge is qualifying. At least one year experience in a restaurant or large volume food service program is required. High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to move supplies and use equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
