Sr. Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering sought by Knowles Electronics, LLC in Itasca, IL: Responsible for managing projects involving process development & mechanization in context of new product development & productivity improvement in manufacturing. Initiate, evaluate & implement solutions to design & production problems. Coordinate design changes & improvements necessary to improve manufacturability. Participate in projects to improve existing process &product designs, including cost analysis, equipment justification, & product transfers. Work with global cross-functional teams to identify quality, yield & process improvement opportunities with focus on cost reduction using lean manufacturing principles. Formulate proposals for projects to design & implement new processes, equipment & mechanization of processes. Implement & support Value Creation initiatives & programs. Coordinate introduction of new & redesigned products, coordinate special projects & perform feasibility studies to improve quality, performance & cost effectiveness of products. Support production through timely documentation, process analysis & improvement, defect analysis & other technical support. Develop & define new manufacturing processes to support new product development. Research, develop, characterize & implement new material systems & applications. Supply technical support for overseas facilities. Provide process leadership & technical training. Assist & manage subcontractor companies in developing, piloting & implementing manufacturing systems. Position involves minimal travel overseas for product transfers and support. \$121,701 /yr.

Minimum Requirements Include: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience must include: Internal manufacturing/Process leadership (assembly & test processes, leading product design teams with responsibility to transfer products into production); Working in windows based environments, word processing, spreadsheets, manufacturing programs (simulations and mathematical), drafting, documentation and MRP systems; Utilizing adhesive systems, plastic molding, laser welding, & metal stamping for micro-miniature assemblies; Working with Statistical process control and DOE.
