As the Associate General Counsel - Americas you will LEAD by

Providing strategic and day-to-day legal and compliance counseling, advice, training and support to both regional and global business management, including senior leadership teams and operational personnel of the ECMS operating businesses and functions in the Americas region of ECMS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on matters arising out of ECMS’s operating businesses and functional support teams, including contracting, antitrust, M&A, compliance, dispute management and other general legal support.

  • Work collaboratively with outside counsel by monitoring the quality and effectiveness of its legal work and supervising the coordination of legal support to best align with the needs of the businesses and functional support teams.

  • Provide legal support to business partners in contract review, negotiation and strategy across various industries and practice areas.

  • Work with other legal and business colleagues to effectively manage any disputes or litigation matters in accordance with business and company goals.

  • Conduct legal training and investigations related to compliance with corporate and local policies, risk mitigation strategies, regulatory requirements and other legal areas.

  • Serve as legal counsel on projects involving the development of new markets and business areas.

  • Support development of legal processes, procedures, systems, templates, knowledge sharing and other legal topics as part of a dynamic legal environment and support model.

Your elements for success……

  • Law degree with bar admission in at least one US state required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house counsel position.

  • Significant and proven commercial negotiation and drafting experience for broad array of US and global commercial agreements.

  • Broad legal knowledge with high level of proficiency in the application of US and global legal principles and practices.

  • Strong strategic perspective with an ability to understand, assess, and clearly communicate “big” picture legal and commercial concepts to business partners.

  • Experience supporting fields of commodities trading, manufacturing and/or international business is a plus.

The competitive Pay Range for this role is $150,000-$180,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
