The Business Risk and Control Sr Officer I is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically, a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
Responsibilities:
Creation of risk & control management dashboards for real-time analytics reporting
Assist Wealth's ongoing risk mitigation efforts by developing Control Automation solutions
Work on large-scale datasets, focusing on creating scalable and accurate scripts for data aggregation and reporting
Assist with the implementation of deep trending and predictive analysis to identify patterns, support investigations, and perform/automate control testing / validation
Manage the process to update/modify internal control framework to account for changes in key business processes
Develop and execute comprehensive issue and risk based tests through high volume data analysis to validate execution of control activity remediation actions
Execute control reporting to monitor for potential breaks
Develop comprehensive methods for gathering critical control testing evidence to evaluate risk more effectively
Support oversight of issue corrections and execution plans
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data system
Assist the Business in key policy adherence and monitoring.
Keep Management aware of the risk and control environment of the Wealth business through continuous and open communication, by preparing and host Business Risk Committee meetings with Senior Management to present and follow-up on issues, concerns and corrective action plans.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Support management in the review and challenge process, within the FLUs, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards, including implementation and operation, conducting the control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues for resolution.
Qualifications:
5-10+ years of previous banking, data analytics/analytics experience (Operational Risk Management experience is a plus)
Demonstrate experience in control automation solution development and leading QA to debug code to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Expert in the use of database applications and data visualization tools including Python, Apache (Spart, Impala, Hive), SQL, Bash, Batch, Git, Alteryx, Tableau, HTML/CSS
Must be able to show examples of recent projects in the use of Python, Tableau to demonstrate improvements in controls, through control automation and data visualization.
A working knowledge of Citi's technology infrastructure pertaining to big data environment (EAP with Apache) is a plus
Strong written and oral communication skills
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
