This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 05:00PM or it can be a 4 10-hour shifts — must be 40 hours a week. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and weekends. Our office is located at 909 Hidden Ridge Irving, TX.

We offer 3 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday – Friday.

If you are located in Irving, TX, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for other team members

  • Manage the intake of members or the admission/discharge information post notification

  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services

  • Manage the referral process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles

  • Resolve inquiries from members and/or providers

Part of the challenge here is dealing positively with members and providers in sometimes challenging circumstances. As a subject matter expert, you'll also be the “go-to” resource for information. The flexibility to work evening hours will also be required.

Positions in this function includes those responsible for initial triage of members, administrative intake of members or managing the admission/discharge information post-notification, working with hospitals and the clinical team. Includes managing incoming calls, managing requests for services from providers/members, providing information on available network services and transferring members as appropriate to clinical staff. Manages the referrals process, processes incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations. This function includes intake, notification and census roles. *Employees in jobs labeled with ‘SCA’ must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and solving customer problems

  • 1+ years of experience working in the health care industry

  • 1+ years of experience working with medical terminology

  • Ability to pick up equipment onsite before first day

  • Must be 18 years of age OR older

  • Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 5:00pm OR it can be a 4 10-hour shift - must be 40 hours a week including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with health care insurance

  • Experience in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting

  • Clerical or administrative support background or experience working in a call center environment

  • Experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid Services

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within 30 miles within Irving, TX

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
