Citigroup Global Operations Controls Automation Senior Manager, Director in Irving, Texas

The Control Automation Senior Manager for Global Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, development, and implementation of automated controls across Citi's Global Operations. This position will lead a group of skilled professionals dedicated to enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of control processes spanning across Global Operations through innovative automation solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in strengthening Citi's risk management framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an intergral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

This role will report to the Head of Reporting, Analysis, and Automation and will be responsible for owning the Automation Strategy and corresponding Projects across Global Operations. This role will be in charge of determining the best solution given multiple tools used today ( RPA, DAP , Automation Anywhere, DocuSign, Pega) and the full execution to roll-out of the corresponding project as a result of that decision. The role will partner closely with Sr. Managers across all functions and LOB's. This role interacts with Senior Management team in Global Operations. This role will partner very closely with the Technology teams across Global Operations in delivering solutions.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for Controls automation across Global Operations

  • Collaborate with senior management to align automation initiatives with Citi's strategic goals and risk management objectives

Innovation and Development:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge automation solutions to streamline control processes

  • Identify and leverage ITeSS approved technologies, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to enhance automation capabilities.

Team Management:

  • Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. An integral member of the functional leadership team within Risk Management.

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of automation experts and control professionals

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continous improvement within the team

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Ensure that automated controls are robust, effective, and compliant with Citi policy and regulatory requirements

  • Partner with risk, compliance, and audit teams to assess and mitigate potential risks associated with automation initiatives

Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation across Global operations

  • Drive the standardization and harmonization of control processes to achieve greater efficiency, consistency, and standardization.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders, core teams, product leads, technology teams, and external partners, to drive automation initiatives

  • Communicate the value and impact of control automation initiatives to senior management and other stakeholders

  • Representing Citi on critical regulatory matters as required. Serves as liaison with regulatory examiners, Internal Audit, and external auditors on critical Compliance issues and oversees the implementation of related remediation.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years experience in controls automation, risk management, or a related field within the financial services industry

  • Highly motivated with attention to detail, team oriented, organized

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale automation initiatives, and driving strategic initiatives

  • Familiar with identifying, assessing, monitoring, and managing the risks and controls in an organization or a project

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior leaders Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques; structure potential solutions; drive to resolution with senior stakeholders

  • Ability to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment and successful execution, understanding how to operate effectively across diverse businesses

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
