Job Description:

Actalent is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work on exciting projects involving actual buildings, including multi-story structures. You’ll be responsible for hands-on engineering, modeling, and design. If you’re passionate about creating safe and efficient structures, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an experienced engineer or engineering manager to review plans for compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and contract commitments.

  • Perform detailed engineering reviews, addressing moderately complex problems such as conflicting design requirements, material standards, and coordination among disciplines.

  • Draft technically accurate reports and responses to client communications.

  • Prepare weekly reports and billing for all work performed.

  • Communicate workload status to the team to ensure client needs are met.

  • Propose technical advice and innovative solutions to field operations and other technical offices.

  • Work directly with clients to identify and resolve technical issues.

  • Collaborate effectively within the team and work autonomously once trained.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in structural engineering or recognized equivalent.

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate as a minimum. Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California is a plus.

  • Proficiency in using computer applications for structural engineering, including ETABS, RISA, and SAP.

  • Working knowledge of the current 2019 California Building Code, ASCE-7, and International Building Code. Understanding of ASCE 41-17 is a plus.
