The Financial Analyst is responsible for evaluation of financial reporting processes within departments and branches, analyzing intricate financial data, and compiling comprehensive reports. They are expected to offer recommendations to management for setting and achieving profit targets, evaluate alternatives, and assess overall financial performance to recommend the best course of action. Additionally, the role involves generating key performance indicators and other monthly reporting packages, as well as maintaining and enhancing budgeting and financial modeling tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following but not limited to:

  • Assist with financial planning and budgeting processes.

  • Analyze financial statements and reports. Prepare projections.

  • Develop financial models and reports using Excel, Power BI, and/or Adaptive.

  • Perform research and analysis as may be required by leadership to support business decisions.

  • Assist with the monthly closing processes.

  • Supporting the implementation and administration of Power BI and Adaptive.

  • Train other employees how to use Power BI and Adaptive.

  • Analyze current and past trends of key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses and operations.

  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.

  • Prepare recurring reporting packages on a monthly and annual basis focusing on key financial results, operational metrics, and performance to targets and budgets.

  • Propose changes to ensure organization achieves financial targets.

  • Assist FP&A manager with annual budgeting and planning process.

  • Provide support for branches and departments throughout the budget process, including training.

  • Perpetual monitoring of budget versus actual results to uncover trends and make recommendations.

  • Other duties as assigned in support of the organization.

  • Bachelors or better

Experience

Required

  • 5 years: Minimum five to seven years of financial analysis and extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles. Experience in financial modeling as well as mergers/acquisition valuations. Ability to evaluate potential investments and divestitures as well as general economic outlooks. Ability to generate project economics (IRR, ROI, KPI’s, etc.).
