Shimmick Pursuit Manager in Irvine, California

Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Pursuit Manager to be based out of California or a remote location within the United States . This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division. Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement pursuit strategies to support project goals and objectives.

  • Manage the pursuit process, including communication, relationships, and overall timeline.

  • Works with Business Development team in identifying opportunities, recommends partnerships, and coordinates to submit proposals.

  • Collaborate with project managers, estimating, and partners to ensure compliant deliverables and overall project timelines are met.

  • Use alternative delivery methods to achieve project goals and improve efficiency.

  • Monitor market trends and perform risk assessments to identify potential opportunities and challenges.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with trade partners to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

  • Provide regular reports on pursuit and proposal performance.

  • Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, preferably within the construction industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with alternative delivery methods, task force meetings, project management, and strategic planning.

  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop and manage contracts.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead task force meetings and collaborate with a diverse team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and develop effective strategies.

  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and other relevant computer applications.

Additional Information:

  • The role includes travel as required.

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $225,000 per year depending on experience and/or education, as well a location.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
