The Position:

JOB SUMMARY:

• Systems engineers are involved on front end architecture definition of new solutions. They compile and interpret industry, customer and internal requirements and assists with decomposing them into hardware and software requirements. They may be involved in investigation of hardware and/or software defects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Requirements Definition

• Design requirements for new systems, new system configurations, sub-systems, software and products in support of projects and programs.

• Provide documentation of designs and requirements for new systems, new system configurations, sub-systems, software and products in support of projects and programs.

• Participate in design reviews of requirements implementation.

• Perform customer proposal development with system definition and functional requirements.

• Support prototype development of new systems, new system configurations, software and products.

• Requirements Communication

• Communicate system requirements for systems, new system configurations, sub-systems, software and products both internally and externally with the customer.

Provide technical direction to members of assigned work teams

The salary or hourly wage range of $93,000- $157,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or other related engineering degree, or equivalent experience.

• 5-10 years' of experience in large scale integrated systems.

• Experience with following technologies a plus: Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, mySQL (or other SQL-based database), Linux device drivers, relational database design, C/C++.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• • Has a natural desire to solve problems, the more complex the better• Proven ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with customers and across the organization • Demonstrated experience providing identifiable contributions to the success of a specific product/project.• Ability to provide technical direction to teammates as a technical expert and a source of information.• Accountable to meeting own commitments as well as helping the overall team meet the project plan• Proficient with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Engineering community.• Uses professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.• Develop solutions to clearly defined problems of moderate to diverse scope. Analysis involves selecting the best alternative method or process from among several existing alternatives, or based on evaluation of identifiable factors.

• • Use expertise, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.• Interact with senior internal and external personnel.• Strong interpersonal skills, system level definition capabilities, and customer service skills.

· Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
