Job Description

Skyworks Irvine, CA design center has leading R&D and product development capabilities. Module Design Engineer

Skyworks Irvine design center is seeking a Module Design Engineer. The designer will be responsible for design and development of highly integrated cellular front end receiver modules incorporating active and passive devices leading to high volume production ramp for mobile markets. He/she should have experience in RF & 3D EM modeling and simulation of complete module, cellular front-end architecture and specifications, tuning and bench evaluation of front-end module parameters like gain, NF, linearity, input/output matching and stability. Familiarity with silicon RFIC design, packaging techniques and substrate technologies like LTCC, laminate and IPD is required. Customer interaction skills and good communication skills are required. Should have experience with complete cycle of development for high-performance, high-volume semiconductor products.

Job Requirements

BS and 8+ years working experience, or MS and 6+ years working experience. MS preferred.

Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Experience with design simulation tool or equivalent - Agilent ADS, HFSS, APD, Capture, Cadence, Orcad

Product Realization Process (PRP) - General understanding of how to take a project from concept to production.

Knowledge of Design Architecture - Experience and familiarity with wireless transceiver architectures, system requirements, standards, receiver and transmitter chain sub-blocks (e.g. LNAs, Switches or Power Amplifiers)

Knowledge of test parameters and test equipment - Experience and familiarity with testing, evaluation and debugging RF, analog and mixed-signal module designs in a lab environment. Should be proficient in use of network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, oscilloscope.

Device or Product Characterization Knowledge - Good knowledge and understanding of laminate, LTCC, IPD, wirebonding, WLCSP techniques, SMT components. Expertise in on-die and in-module RF coupling mechanisms, isolation techniques and shielding methods is required.

Experience with MCM design & layout, evaluation boards and bench testing and debugging.

Good communication skills and teamwork is a must to be able to work in a fast-paced product development environment

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
