Job Description

The VP of Human Resources is the HR leader for the Adventure Sports and Precision Sports platform that has responsibility for supporting a $500M+ business unit with multiple US and International locations, with over 1000+ team members.

This role has a number of business leaders as clients and HR generalists / administrators who report to this position, as such, we're looking for a strong leader that is able to clearly define expectations for his/her team, coach and mentor team members to high performance and provide on-going performance feedback and guidance. An ideal candidate will have a demonstrated background of combing character, integrity and trustworthiness of the highest level with an exceptional array of skills/abilities to drive the vision and impact necessary to ensure continued success of the organization.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership and corporate human resources to align HR initiatives with overall business strategies.

  • Talent Acquisition and Retention: Provide guidance on recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes. Develop retention strategies, employee engagement and talent development programs. Partner with platform president and executive team – helps guide all talent and strategy conversations, coaching leaders to assure they have the right talent in the right places when they are needed and can work with leaders and managers to develop team members. Partner with the executive team and provide guidance and direction to the Talent Acquisition's Manger to proactively develop organizational design and transformational plans for growth and function. Partners with Finance and Talent Acquisitions to ensure forecasted headcount is plan is aligned in on track with business unit leaders.

  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations processes and workflows, conflict resolution and disciplinary processes. Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures. Own the day to day HR issues, ensuring that issues (including performance gaps and ethics complaints) are managed effectively and according to the corporate policy and legal requirements across brands/locations within the Adventure Sports pillar.

  • Performance Management: In collaboration with CHRO and Corporate HR partners, design, implement and maintain performance management systems, goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms. Monitor and improve employee productivity and performance.

  • Training, Development and Culture: Oversee and provide strategic direction for training needs and employee development programs. Provide guidance on career development, mentorship and learning opportunities. Partners with the Training and Development and HR Partners to ensure the team members have clear goals and expectations, that managers are effectively leading their team members, and employees are building capabilities through on-going development. Partner with the platform, brand leaders, and Talent and Development team as they establish strong organizational cultures within the respective brands. Assuring alignment with the broader Revelyst culture, but also encouraging and supporting expression of the unique cultural components of each brand

  • HR Compliance: Provides global insight and compliance of labor laws, regulations, and internal policies. Collaborates with the CHRO and Executive leadership to ensure the business is updated on changes in employment law. Possesses working knowledge of criteria, policies, and processes to define, develop and implement a “best place to work” culture and environment.

  • Corporate and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Assist the Revelyst CHRO with merger and acquisition opportunities, as needed. In collaboration with the Revelyst CHRO, lead platform integration efforts with new companies when necessary. Help the brand leaders create an environment of respect and tolerance for diverse perspectives and backgrounds and truly leveraging the power that comes from diversity within the workforce. Maintain leadership presence and collaboration skills to work alongside the executive team and to interact effectively at all levels, and across all geographic boundaries, of the company.

  • Benefits and Compensation: Collaborates with the corporate benefits and compensation teams to provide insights on local laws and competing benefit and compensation programs for the business units geographical locations. Ensures employee compensation and benefits are in line with market pricing and have sufficient motivational and retentive value and are compliant with company policy as well as federal, state, and local requirements.   • HR Metrics and Reporting: Establish HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs. Generate reports to analyze data provide insights for decision making.

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of HR Partners, Talent Development and Talent Acquisitions. Proactively Lead with proven change management skills. Gathers and analyzes data to measure progress against strategic initiatives and timelines; thinks and acts relative to best practices, even “next practices”, to align organizational direction and focus.

CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Strong coaching and consultation skills especially with managers and business leaders.

  • Excellent communication skills across all mediums but especially in face to face interactions.

  • Entrepreneurial mind set, decisive, and comfortable working in a nimble environment.

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Strong project management and change management capabilities – including building and executing projects, communications and training plans to drive change in the organization.

  • Good awareness of and basic capabilities in HR law and other employment related legal and compliance requirements (e.g., affirmative action).

  • Good experience in the total talent acquisition process including sourcing, recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding talent.

  • Influence and negotiation skills to help competing perspectives find common ground and come to an agreed upon path forward.

  • Proven experience in gaining meaningful input from others and making sound judgments in a complex environment. Possesses ability to analyze existing paradigms and create streamlined processes. Demonstrates fair consideration and respect to various viewpoints.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10-15 years of progressive HR generalist / business partner experience.

  • Experience in Talent Evaluation, Acquisition and Development.

  • Experience in supporting a multi-business global platform. M&A integration experience is a plus

  • Experience with Organizational Design.

  • Experience with manufacturing, hourly, and professional employees

  • Experience in Consumer Products industry

  • Experience with California compliance and wage and hour is a plus

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

  • SHRM Certification is a plus
