Jacobs Construction Electrical Inspector in Irvine, California
We are looking for a Construction Electrical Inspector at our Irvine, CA location to perform work such as analysis, surveillance, and inventory of a variety of TMS and highway electrical installations. You will also utilize your expertise to perform inspection and quality control verification of TMS elements to ensure optimal performance of the State Highway System. To ensure success in this role, you will apply your knowledge of engineering fundamentals and safety regulations to ensure the project is being constructed in full compliance with contract documents.
As Construction Electrical Inspector work under the direction of a Construction Project Manager, and will assume the following functional responsibilities:
Perform key electrical and system engineering/integration tasks needed to support the real-time central management systems and related hardware and software.
Perform quality assurance inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on the civil work.
Perform quantity calculations and measurement for progress, pay estimates and keep daily project records.
Perform labor compliance interviews.
Assist with preparation, analysis and review of contract change orders.
Assist with the review of Critical Path Method (CPM) Schedule analysis.

5+ years of relevant electrical inspections and construction management experience on highway construction projects
Must have a strong understanding of Caltrans Standard Plans and Standard Specifications
Valid California Driver’s License
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to walk construction site, including walking up and down slopes, climbing ladders, and walking on scaffolding and other temporary structures.
Willingness to work at odd hours, be available for day or night calls
Ideally you will have:
Knowledge of Caltrans Construction Manual and Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual
Knowledge of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements
Knowledge of construction practices, physical characteristics and properties of roadway
