Amazon Asset Producer, Central Creative Team (Amazon Games) in Irvine, California

The Asset Producer plays an integral role at the intersection of production and creative. By fostering close relationships with creative directors and keeping in constant communication with stakeholders, the Asset Producer drives the production of marketing assets from inception to deployment. As Asset Producer, you will be responsible for driving the creation & delivery of a vast array of assets including: gameplay, live-action, and CG trailers, screenshots, key art, b-roll, memes, thumbnails, and many more. This role entails a high degree of communication with stakeholders both inside and outside of the company. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including product managers, vendors, licensors, and more.

Key job responsibilities

  • Proactively manage and mitigate project risks throughout the production process.

  • Organize frequent creative reviews with developers, product managers, paid media teams, licensee's/licensors and other stakeholders to solicit feedback and approval on latest versions of assets.

  • Review all cuts and revs of all assets to ensure progress, quality, and to foresee risks.

  • Maintain a detailed asset tracker for all planned, in production, and completed assets.

  • Create & maintain workback and production schedules as well as calendars based on delivery dates and keep stakeholders appraised of production deadlines & milestones.

  • Watch all edits, review all versions, read briefs, scripts & treatments to stay aware of the status of assets you are managing and to provide creative and editorial feedback to creative directors ensuring vision is aligned with brand vision, go to market plans, as well as schedule, budget and quality targets.

  • Research, maintain and disseminate content best practices and optimizations in conjunction with intelligence and strategy teams.

  • Be a source of knowledge and resource for team members and chase answers where there are gaps in the team's knowledge.

  • Maintain asset trackers and sync regularly with cross functional teams and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on asset production statuses and timing.

  • Manage post production & creative agency vendors including soliciting and reviewing bids for accuracy, consistency and once approved, initiate SOW's and PO requests when needed.

  • When required plan and execute small, medium, and large scale live action shoots including budgeting, casting, facilities & scheduling, as well as chasing any production deliverables.

  • Forecast and maintain asset production budgets and liaise regularly with finance partners to ensure accuracy of budgets or other budget control documents.

  • Initiate music licensing and composition requests with music licensing teams confirming usage, territory, timeline, and artist credits and approvals.

  • Send trailers and other assets to Legal, DEI and other reviewing teams with proper caveats and context for review and confirm required disclaimers.

  • Send videos to ESRB for pre-clearance and communicate fixes required for compliance.

  • Sync regularly with localization teams to confirm on time delivery of localization projects and assets.

  • Keep sound design & mixing houses apprised of upcoming mix dates and any changes to their timing as well as any special requirements.

  • Ensure all final assets are uploaded to delivery and archival storage solutions.

  • Provide rapid response to executive & senior leadership team request for assets for special use cases, such as all hands meetings, events, board meetings, award shows, etc.

  • QC all assets for accurate spelling, required legal copy, ESRB ratings, correct end slate CTA's, and ensure files are error free.

  • When needed, upload final trailers to YouTube and schedule YouTube premieres when required. Ensure videos are added to the proper playlist and end screens are configured and applied.

  • Source in-game assets for vendors including working with game producers to understand asset availability and also directly pulling assets from shared asset stores when possible.

  • When required, set all localized trailers unlisted or public at deployment time and ensure all thumbnails, metadata, and links are provided for deployment emails.

A day in the life

A typical day in the life of an Asset Producer at Amazon Games entails reviewing your day to ensure your meeting schedule is free of conflicts and is aligned with your goals. From there you will likely participate is several meetings throughout the day all while reviewing and responding to email and Slack messages pertaining to upcoming or in production assets. Typically you will check in with any creative directors you are working with as well as product marketing managers for titles you are responsible for. You will also likely be sending & receiving files to and from creative agencies, vendors or licensors as well as building schedules, budgets or working to proactively solve workflow problems. Occasionally you may need to travel to places like Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, New York for offsites, shoots, and meetings.

The Central Creative team is responsible for the creation of all marketing assets across our games portfolio.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors in applicable fields such as cinema/tv, video games, communications, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience in asset production at video game or creative content studios.

  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed for studio meetings, shoots, trade shows, etc.

  • Tech savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software tools and workflows.

  • Remains cool under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with exacting licensors.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
