We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team and provide specialized care to individuals with mental health conditions.

Job Summary: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will be responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders, developing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to individuals across the lifespan. This role requires a strong clinical background in psychiatry, advanced knowledge of psychopharmacology, and expertise in mental health assessment and treatment modalities.  Position can be adaptable -Contract or Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental health history, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments, to evaluate individuals' mental health status and needs.
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to develop integrated treatment plans and coordinate care for individuals
  3. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including dosage adjustments, medication monitoring, and patient education, in accordance with state regulations and best practice guidelines.
  4. Provide individualized psychotherapy and counseling services, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing) to address individuals' mental health concerns and promote recovery.
  5. Monitor individuals served progress, response to treatment, and medication side effects through regular follow-up appointments, assessments, and outcome measurements.
  6. Educate individuals served and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, self-care strategies, and community resources to support recovery and wellness.
  7. Document individuals served encounters, treatment plans, progress notes, and medication management in electronic health records (EHR) accurately and in a timely manner.
  8. Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations, peer review, and continuing education activities to maintain clinical competence, stay updated on best practices, and enhance professional development.
  9. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, maintain confidentiality of individuals information, and uphold professional standards of conduct and integrity.
  10. Collaborate with community agencies, schools, and organizations to promote mental health awareness, prevention, and early intervention initiatives.

Qualifications:

Master's or Doctoral degree in psychiatric mental health nursing from an accredited program.

Current state licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Certification as a PMHNP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a PMHNP in a clinical setting, preferably with diverse individual populations and mental health disorders.

Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills, with knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects.

Proficiency in conducting psychiatric evaluations, mental status exams, risk assessments, and crisis intervention.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and therapeutic skills, with the ability to establish rapport, build therapeutic alliances, and collaborate effectively with individuals and colleagues.
