Your Opportunity
Have you ever wondered how microservices systems can be scaled vertically or horizontally to meet heavy usages? As a Performance Software Engineering Intern you will learn to create tests, test, and monitor the performance of the system's components to prevent, detect, and address performance issues. You will learn how to analyze the system's performance and collaborate with other teams to solve performance problems. You will learn what to avoid in order to create performant software. You will be working on a cloud-based open source project, FOLIO, with experienced engineers from around the world. FOLIO has gained popularity and adoption in recent years, including but not limited to the Library of Congress, MOBIUS consortium, and others.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with your team to design and create performance test scripts
Test and analyze the system's performance
Collaborate with other team members to address any performance issues
Learn about deploying and configure applications on AWS services
Work with cutting-edge software development processes and tools such as Git, Jira, JMeter, New Relic
About You
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (bachelors or masters) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Computer Engineering or other Technical related degree or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C#) and cloud technologies
Familiarity with SQL technologies such as PostgreSQL
Basic understanding of software development principles and methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
