Position Overview

We are adding a Supply Chain Contracts Specialist (mid career) to our team in our Ingleside Texas office to support our OGC market. In this role, you will own contracts from start to finish for your assigned materials/equipment. You will be expected to negotiate T's and C's on contracts, support supply chain initiatives for your project, manage pricing and quantities, monitor shipments and resolving material and equipment issues with the logistics and supplier quality teams. Your role will have a heavy focus on developing, reviewing and negotiating contracts with suppliers and doing cradle to grave procurement coordination for material, equipment and subcontractor agreements. District Overview

Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining. Location

This position is based out of one of our district offices in Ingleside Texas. (This is not a remote or hybrid position).

Responsibilities

Develop contracts, using our Ineight ERP system. Prepare/issue Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals to identify vendors/subcontractors who meet project constraints of budget and schedule at the estimating, execution and site purchasing levels.

Once Vendors are identified, draft/develop and manage material and vendor subcontracts for your assigned project(s). Review T's and C's of contracts with legal to ensure contracts meet our client/project requirements. Interface with Engineering and/or construction teams to provide insight about status of cost, quality and schedule for materials/equipment for your assigned project(s).

Negotiate with vendors to purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings. Manage the vendor contracts, change orders and payment facilitation process for your materials/equipment/services that you support for your projects.

Confer with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.

Leverage vendors/subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to projects.

Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history.

Monitor shipments to ensure goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.

Assist in the development of company-wide procurement templates.

Assist in negotiating high-risk contracts for various projects.

Work to resolve escalated, complex, or disputed contract issues.

Develop and maintain vendor relationships and manage supplier-specific vendor template negotiations.

Support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communication to the team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or related field with at least two years of experience in contracts management/negotiation. If no degree, must have a minimum of 4 years in contracts management/negotiation and drafting for the procurement of materials/equipment and/or subcontractor services.

  • Prefer experience in construction, engineering or industrial/manufacturing performing contracts and other related supply chain functions like change order management, invoice management and general procurement function execution. Experience with Oil and Gas/petrochemical supply chain contracts preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years' negotiation experience with material, equipment or subcontractor services is required.

  • Thorough understanding of all areas of procurement is desirable, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, and site purchasing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and general knowledge of database utilization

  • SAP Experience a plus. InEight Software experience (or similar ERP system) highly desired

  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
