This position is limited for 3 years.
Tasks & responsibilities
In your new role, you will lead AHGI disease exploratory research and research in the field of cardio-metabolic disease
Furthermore, you will propose and evaluate scientific methods, and maintain assay records.
You will organize and communicate results, draft publications, and coordinate with external partners.
Finally, you will build collaborative networks and promote a culture of scientific inquiry.
As a Senior Scientist:
- you will be involved in more leadership and strategic responsibilities than the Scientist role, including leading experiments, managing partnerships, and mentoring junior scientists.
As a Principal Scientist:
you will be involved in the highest level of responsibility, including driving innovation, leading research initiatives, advising team goals, and managing departmental administration and budgets.
In this role you will encompass the responsibilities of both the Scientist and Senior Scientist roles, with additional leadership and strategic tasks.
Requirements
Master’s degree in life sciences (e.g., biology, immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, animal sciences)
Working knowledge of assays and methods used in pharmaceutical discovery with at least a few years in R&D roles, preferably first experience in Animal Health R&D
Experience preparing and executing in vitro and in vivo assays SOPs and protocols, and in data collection and reporting.
Project management skills
Fluency in English, German and French is beneficial
Senior Scientist:
PhD or a DVM or MD with post-graduate training in immunology, oncology, pathology, pharmacology, internal medicine, microbiology, laboratory animal science
Solid working knowledge of pharmaceutical discovery and research, including API, screening, models and process
Understanding of the application of basic molecular biology and use of biochemical informatics
Deep understanding of disease pathways and experimental methodology (in vitro and/or in vivo models) - working knowledge of domestic animal diseases preferred
Strong project management skills
Ability to mentor junior scientists and technicians
Principal Scientist:
PhD or a DVM or MD with post-graduate training in immunology, oncology, pathology, pharmacology, internal medicine, microbiology, laboratory animal science - board certification in one of these areas required
Internationally reputated working knowledge of pharmaceutical discovery and research, including API, screening, models and process
Long term experience in R&D roles, preferably at least few years in Animal Health R&D
Understanding of the application of basic molecular biology and use of biochemical informatics
Deep understanding of disease pathways and experimental methodology (in vitro and/or in vivo models) with established working knowledge of domestic animal diseases
Strong project management skills
Ability to mentor junior and senior scientists
