What is the job about?

The purpose of the Category Manager is the following: Deliver consistently high Customer satisfaction on behalf of Group Purchasing and the GF Divisions, conduct Value Based Sourcing within the Categories in scope, a continuous optimization of the Operational Excellence, innovation and Sustainability delivered from Suppliers, TCO optimization in the industry/ category.

Your main responsibilities:

Strategic sourcing related activities:

  • Develop and maintain category strategy

  • Execute category strategy by using the existing Purchasing Tools

  • Responsible for the tendering process (eRFI & RFQs and e-auctions) and supplier selection

  • Drive and execute supplier negotiations, own the purchasing T&Cs and contracting

  • Implement cost models to manage price volatilities and as such to mitigate risk

  • Gain and establish in-depth market and industry knowledge, drive innovation

  • Oversee and optimize supplier portfolio in support of the business priorities

Supplier Relationship Management related activities:

  • Responsible for supplier KPIs, regular follow-ups and improvement activities

  • Initiate and participate in supplier development audits, CSR audits etc.

  • Support supply chain improvements and initiatives in cooperation with local units

  • Actively supports Product Development and Product Maintenance Process

  • Owner of category specific purchasing projects, with cross-functional key stakeholders with

  • Create SRM strategies for key suppliers and relevant collaborative suppliers

  • Design and drive implementation of supply chain solutions to secure on-time deliveries

  • Coordinate at critical supply challenges to avoid supply disruptions

  • Accountable for vendor master data and updated purchasing conditions

Your background:

  • Relevant commercial and/or technical education;

  • At least 5 years of relevant international experience within sourcing in a global organization;

  • Experienced in communicating up to senior executive levels internally / externally

  • Very strong analytical and negotiation skills;

  • Organizational and strategic thinking;

  • Social and Cooperative, open to learn;

  • Result- and action oriented;

  • Fluent in English;

  • Expected travel is up to 25-30 days per year;

Location: Hungary Székesfehérvár or Serbia Indija (max. 8 days/month in home office)
