Traffic Safety Engineerto join our national Transportation Safety Team to expand the safety practice to new geographies. This position can be filled in the following BandN offices for Ohio: Cincinnati, Columbus, Mentor or Louisville, KY // Boise, ID // Indianapolis, IN // Portland, OR

BandN Traffic Safety Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the growing national safety practice and work on projects across the country
  • Lead the development of Vision Zero Action Plans, Regional Safety Plans, Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Plans, Vulnerable Road User Assessments, Strategic Highway Safety Plans (SHSPs) and other safety planning efforts across the country
  • Perform and review safety analyses
  • Advise on projects involving the Safe System Approach (SSA), proven safety countermeasures and strategies, and the Highway Safety Manual
  • Attend conferences to share knowledge with safety professionals across the country
  • Assist with the development and mentoring of junior level staff and help them grow into safety professionals

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
  • 7+ years of related experience in Transportation Engineering , Safety planning, or other engineering studies or analysis
  • PE registration required, RSP preferred
  • Expertise on the Safe System Approach, Vision Zero, and other safety principles as well as project management skills desirable
  • Proven verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency MS Office is required, prior experience with IHSDM is a plus
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
