About the Indiana Management Performance Hub (MPH):

The Management Performance Hub (MPH) provides analytics solutions tailored to address complex management and policy questions enabling improved outcomes for Hoosiers. We partner with state agencies to leverage data in innovative ways to facilitate data-driven decision-making and data-informed policymaking.

Salary:

This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $70,122. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

Role Overview:

The Systems Administrator Senior will assist the MPH Manager of Enterprise Applications in developing, implementing, and deploying Windows servers for state users. You will be in charge of assisting end users with technical implementations.

A Day in the Life:

Key outcomes for this role are:

  • Maintain the stability, performance, and security of computer systems.

  • Help to onboard new state agencies and organizations into existing technical solutions.

  • Help architect new solutions.

  • Design systems architecture that includes base system standards, minimization and hardening guidelines, and thorough documentation.

  • Install and troubleshoot software on server platforms while ensuring compliance with current licensing.

  • Help with firewall and proxy requests.

  • Monitor server activity and usage statistics to identify possible performance issues or needed enhancements.

  • Design and oversee the implementation of new project requests. This includes the ability to:

  • determine hardware requirements,

  • determine proper network security zone based on use, and

  • define potential impacts and improvements for system availability.

What You'll Need for Success:

This position requires :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting Microsoft Windows Server Environment and Applications.

  • Experience in server application administration.

  • Knowledge of networking, firewall configuration, and VPN.

  • Experience with Active Directory, SSO, SAML, and Kerberos.

  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot system issues.

  • Ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical staff.

    Additional qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of information technology systems including software, hardware, and their impact on the various components.

  • Thorough knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques.

  • Thorough knowledge of information technology equipment, operation, and capabilities.

  • Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with others.

  • Ability to develop and execute system backup and recovery procedures and plans.

  • Ability to work with other information technology support staff to develop capacity planning.

  • Thorough knowledge of installation, maintenance, and configuration of software and system operating systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of using tools and utilities to perform the system work.

  • Thorough knowledge of designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting system software components.

  • Thorough knowledge of performance and tuning techniques.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
