Raytheon Technologies Sr Principle Electrical Engineer-FPGA in Indianapolis, Indiana

Raytheon Intelligence and Space , Indianapolis, is seeking an

Senior Principle

electrical engineer with expertise in FPGA design and System on a Chip (SoC) embedded processing. The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer will develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including Xilinx, Intel/Altera, Lattice, and Microchip/Microsemi. Designs are implemented using VHDL and/or HLS for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) DSP, controls, data links, embedded processing and processor interfaces. Designers work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements and algorithms, architect new parts, collaborative modeling of algorithms, partition and perform code development, simulation, and place and route. Designs are verified against requirements using both directed test and constrained random methodologies. Design support is expected from requirements definition through integration and test. The successful candidate will interact with senior members of the Configurable Digital Logic (CDL) departments across the Enterprise to refine configurable logic work flows and advanced test capabilities, and to provide mentorship and training to a growing junior level staff.

Required Skills:

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience with digital design and VHDL coding

Expertise in Xilinx or Microsemi devices and FPGA design flow tools

Expertise in delivering FPGA solutions to system level applications

Hands on experience with integration and debug of embedded systems

Technical writing including white papers, process enablers, and learning materials

Excellent virtual and in person communication

Self-starter able to complete assignments with minimal guidance

Desired Skills:

MS or Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering

FPGA design expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Expertise in radar processing techniques

Expertise in image processing techniques for visual and infrared sensors

Expertise in embedded systems design using ARM, Microblaze, or Nios processors

Expertise in gigabit serial interfaces and multi-gigabit transceivers (MGTs)

Expertise in Software Defined Radio applications

Expertise in verification utilizing emulation platforms, such as Veloce

Education Requirements:

Requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field and


years of related work experience. Master’s degree
