Salary:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $61,022.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

Location:

This position is located in INDOT’s Central Office, Indianapolis.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • May coordinate and/or supervise the work of lower-level QA staff.

  • Act as technical expert and information resource concerning assigned areas.

  • Perform and lead tests to ensure that all IT systems, products and services meet minimum standards and requirements.

  • Work closely with the applications development team during software development to include areas of application development, operation and technical support and security.

  • Lead and administer change control processes to ensure zero defect software development.

  • Create complex test data for applications.

  • Document testing data, findings and reports.

  • Ensure the development of a database history file.

  • Provide requested weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports and regularly updates assigned manager.

  • Devise improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.

  • Perform complex workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.

  • Recommend new and improved QA practices and procedures.

  • Mentor and provide guidance and training to new and/or lower-level staff.

  • Prepare QA documents, manuals, training curriculum and training sessions.

  • Provide resources for agency technical writers.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Broad knowledge of agency IT and business systems, PC hardware and software and management principles.

  • Broad knowledge of QA testing and reporting procedures and practices.

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations, statutes and procedures.

  • Extensive knowledge of applications development, operations and technical support and applicable security programs and practices.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems or develop creative solutions when necessary.

  • Ability to work with costly equipment and remain accountable.

  • Effective communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
