Actalent R&d Lab Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana
Description:
The R&D Lab Tech will be supporting product development by conducting various quality and research related lab tests. The individual in this role will be responsible for:
-Conducting and overseeing various lab tests, including: Vibration table studies, glue formulations, tensile testing, paper weight and grade testing, ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) testing, Pallet testing, etc.
-Lead a bulge test/bending project, coordinating with relevant teams while analyzing results and providing actionable insights.
-Ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to testing protocols.
-Regularly review and update product specifications.
-Collaborate with quality control, laboratory, and engineering teams to maintain accurate specs.
-Provide regular status updates to management regarding ongoing projects and testing activities.
-Communicate any deviations or issues promptly.
-Perform hot oil testing on components and materials.
-Record findings and recommend improvements as needed.
-Work closely with vendors to procure samples for testing.
-Evaluate vendor performance and suggest improvements.
-Collaborate on new projects and contribute insights.
-Provide technical information and support to the sales team.
-Address customer inquiries related to product testing and performance.
Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree in technical discipline preferred (chemistry, materials science, polymer science, etc.)
-2+ years of hands on laboratory experience (can be from education)
-GMP experience within quality, R&D, or laboratory preferred
