Program Engineering Manager

Job Description:

Summary:

The Program Engineering Manager will be responsible for new product development with emphasis on accelerating the development cycle and transition to production. You will work closely with Engineering Departments to successfully deliver results to customers to achieve program delivery and performance requirements. This role will utilize exceptional communication and planning skills to manage programs with an eye for business.

Responsibilities:

  • Key participant in cross function product launch team representing Product Engineering and Product Technical Specification limits and implications

  • Define the project objectives with Product Engineering teams, managers and individual contributors

  • Plan project timelines including required resources based on program deliverables and implementing deadlines

  • Work cross functionally to ensure customer needs are addressed and targets are met

  • Communicate with internal/external customers regarding project deliverables and ensuring all requests or questions are addressed

  • Manage engineering compliance to engineering processes, including DFMEA and best practices

  • Responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements

  • Act as liaison with supplier and sub-contractors involved with assigned programs

  • Evaluate and develop technical proposals, reports and presentations

  • Track statuses of projects ensuring deliverables are accomplished within timelines and provide updated reports for cross-functional teams

    Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of Product Development, 8 years’ total experience

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

  • Familiar with manufacturing environment and including project management, customer interaction, with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Able to perform a variety of complex tasks with a degree of creativity and latitude

  • Able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
