FFP Production Supervisor in Indianapolis, Indiana

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading and training associates within assigned departments through leading by example, explaining the processes, and showing the proper processes by working alongside associates. The Supervisor is also responsible for all documentation within the department, including Batch Ticket compliance/completion, timecards for associates, inventory counting and management, and communication of verbal and written disciplinary actions for associates. This role also steps in and works alongside, or in place of, absent or trainee associates and is a working-supervisor role.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

General oversight of assigned departments, including working with varying levels of leadership to plan and execute for efficiency, while meeting all formulation expectations and customer needs. Verification that all products are approved by Quality Assurance and follow all required GMP procedures Continually maintain inventory of all ingredients and extracts. Ensure, before the end of each shift, that all paperwork has been accurately completed, machinery is ready for the next shift to run efficiently, and the department is left clean and sanitary. Continual review of departmental team with consistent feedback to grow knowledge and improvement towards performance is being seen through management of expectations and continuous improvement.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and update all procedures and SOPs, with training of associates to updates

  • Partner with Quality Assurance for product approvals and variances

  • Interpret the daily and weekly production schedules and plan accordingly

  • Work alongside other departmental leaders for product flow efficiency and timing

  • Operate and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned area equipment

  • Step-in to execute Operator and/or Lead Operator tasks for assigned areas during absences, or to assist as needed and assigned

  • Process and document all paperwork accurately

  • Calculate and verify all ingredient/materials/etc are available and consumed as required, following Batch Ticket formulations

  • Complete Clean-In-Place (CIP) process as needed

  • Ensure all employees are following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and working in accordance with Javo/FFP's policies

  • Train all new associates on operational processes, procedures, and guidelines

  • Drive, and seek out new, continuous improvement processes within the department

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with Food Safety guidelines, procedures, rules and regulations, and GMPs

  • Company reserves the right to move associates to different departments based on business and/or training needs

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent

  • Must be willing to obtain forklift operator certification

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Proficient with math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, ratios, and percentages

  • Ability to multi-task effectively

  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures in an FDA-regulated facility

  • Must be able to work well in a wet, hot, and fast-paced environment while leading others for success

  • Competent computer skills

  • Demonstration of results-driven self-management with integrity by being accountable, dependable, and responsible for attendance, actions, initiatives, and productivity standards

  • Able to quickly adapt and accept change

  • Experience in personnel management and proven growth results

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, climb, push, and pull up to 12 hours per day

  • Able to lift up to, and including, 75 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently

  • Must be able to work in wet, noisy, and hot environments

  • Ability to monitor and operate HMI panels

  • Ability to effectively communicate with various communication styles and preferences, with varying levels of operators and leaders
