Oracle Oracle Database Administrator - West Coast Hours in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Description

Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

We are currently recruiting a DBA for our Commercial Construction and Engineering business hosted on the OCI platform. This person will be responsible to support our DBA practice supporting US Commercial business primarily and other lines of business secondarily. You will be part of best-in-class DevOps / DBA performance in support of continuously reliable and efficient running of Oracle’s global SaaS platforms.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Database Administrator, you are instrumental in researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending, and planning implementation of new versions of Oracle database and database tools. May act as a team lead during database implementations and for system operation and maintenance.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain Oracle databases to Oracle standards. This will include migrations to and maintenance of Autonomous Databases

  • Performance tuning, query analysis, and maintenance routines. This is a key required skill for this role

  • Document configuration and optimization procedures.

  • Trouble-shooting and proactively managing highly technical system issues at tier-II support to the Incident Management and Change Management processes.

  • Operate and provisioning into cloud environment

  • Ensure that all operational and administration activities are carried out with a focus on security and operational efficiency.

  • Guide DBA operations with remote data centers around the world.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of mid-level DBA and/or other systems management experience in the area of database development and operations in data center and SaaS/public cloud environments.

  • Must be highly skilled at performance tuning complex SQL with large data volumes

  • OCI experience and Certification are a plus

  • Experience with cloud implementation of Golden Gate

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the Linux operating system, in particular Oracle (OEL) and Red Hat versions. - Nice to have

  • Experience running large Java/python/ruby applications.

  • Virtualization Experience with VMware ESX, or Linux based solutions. - Nice to have

  • Solid and modern source control practices, including Git and merge request flows.

  • Good analytical skills for troubleshooting problems, especially from remote locations.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
