Position Summary
Position is responsible for providing general maintenance skills to the DPW Parks Maintenance, Street Maintenance, or Traffic Maintenance Sections.
Position Responsibilities
Plows snow, mows grass and performs other duties associated with the maintenance of municipal Streets and Parks infrastructure utilizing equipment such as; snow plow, salt spreader, lawn mower, mowing attachments, dump bed, air hammer & attachments, air and hydraulic breaking equipment.
Assists workers of other crews in their duties.
Ability to do minor concrete work.
Perform chuckhole patching, debris removal, sidewalk/curb patching.
Ensures temporary traffic controls at work site.
Trim tree limbs so they do not block signs.
Keeps daily record and log of work completed and supplies used.
Performs related duties as assigned and observes and follows all safety regulations.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience is preferred. Must be able to perform manual labor tasks that require lifting and carrying objects weighing twenty-five (25) pounds or more. Must be able to set up and operate all equipment and machinery associated with sign manufacturing, sign installation and sign removal, including but not limited to; aerial lift truck, sign installation truck, generator, squeeze roller, presses, bench grinder, drill press, forklift and various powered and non-powered hand tools. A valid Class A CDL Driver’s License is preferred, Class B license required.
Independent Judgment
May exercise judgment when determining trade specific procedures, or when making minor modifications or variations from established methods. Work is regularly reviewed by a supervisor.
