Eaton Corporation Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer - Microgrid in Indianapolis, Indiana
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer - Microgrid.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:
The Lead Microgrid Controls Engineer will lead the development, testing, and implementation of Microgrid control solutions consisting of Solar Photovoltaic (PV), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Diesel/Natural gas generators for our customers using Automation Controllers, HMI’s, Multi-function Protection Relays, and Data Concentrators from all major OEM’s.
In this function, you will:
Create, modify, test, and deploy software for Automation Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s) for Microgrid applications.
Follow customers specifications and internal specifications for project implementation.
Select components and create bill of materials.
Prepare submittal documentation for projects and meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittals.
Provide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawings.
Prepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation (SOO), and test procedures.
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
Be able to troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 7 years of experience in power distribution controls applications.
Preferred qualifications:
PE License.
Experience with generator/multi-source paralleling controls
Experience with power system protection
Experience working with DERs (PV, BESS, and Generators).
Knowledge/Experience with CODESYS Programming.
Knowledge of Power Monitoring and Control Systems and associated protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850)
Understanding of and experience with Microgrid operations.
Position Success Criteria:

• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Advise customers on technical opportunities/issues.
