Matchbook Learning ELL/MLL Teachers 2024-2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana

Matchbook Learning is hiring an MLL Teacher to serve our K-8 students!

Who are we?

Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization in Indianapolis, Indiana who have launched a single K-8 Innovation Charter School in partnership with the Mayor’s Office and Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). We are currently the largest K-8 in Indianapolis and #10 in the state for parent choice schools. Our innovative, award-winning blended turnaround school model, the first of its kind in the nation to be offered to schools with the highest poverty rates and needs, has already achieved extraordinary results. Now, we are excited to develop a scalable model for inner-city public education in Indianapolis. We are launching our High School, The Match, in the Fall of 2024.

In addition to continued growth in academic outcomes, the Matchbook Learning school will develop global citizens by providing all students experiences that help them to understand other perspectives, the world around them, and the world beyond them.

Who are we looking for?

As a Matchbook Learning teacher you will be a teacher, a project advisor and a learning facilitator. Matchbook teachers provide targeted instruction, lead discussions, coach students as they work with individualized online learning tools, and collaborate with peers to ensure high levels of student achievement. We believe teachers can achieve extraordinary results when their development is personalized and empowered with the aid of technology. The MLL Teacher will provide services for our identified MLL students through push-in and pull-out models.

Required:

  • ESL State Standard teaching certification or equivalent out-of-state certificate .

  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Coachable and collaborative spirit

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English fluent)

Preferred

  • At least two years teaching experience in an urban or low income setting.

  • Demonstrated record of success in the classroom (as a classroom teacher preferred, assistant and student teaching evidence considered).

  • Demonstrated understanding of how to effectively analyze student data to guide instruction.
