Job Title: Controls Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrician for our plant on the west side. The primary role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment using PLC troubleshooting skills. This position does not require programming or laptop connections to PLCs. The candidate should be able to read PLCs and assess issues arising from automated equipment to fix them efficiently.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using PLC troubleshooting skills.
Perform repairs on 3 phase motors, switches, timers, power rectifiers, and photoelectric sensors.
Use tools and equipment to complete work, such as cutting, threading, bending conduit, and replacing conduit, fittings, and junction boxes.
Conduct monthly and weekly calibrations and facility checks.
Read, draw, and interpret electrical diagrams.
Essential Skills
Experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.
Comfortable reading inputs and outputs to diagnose issues.
Strong problem-solving skills with a knack for solving industrial-scale puzzles.
Ability to troubleshoot off an HMI screen.
Experience with root cause analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with 24v-480v systems.
General electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
Must be able to lift 60+ lbs (with assistance).
Ability to work in extreme conditions (heat, cold, dirty environments).
Experience working around hazardous materials and operating equipment is a plus.

Work Environment
This role primarily involves working indoors but may occasionally require outdoor work. The job can be dirty and exposes you to extreme heat and cold. When materials are in the facility, wearing a respirator is mandatory. The dress code includes steel toe boots and company-issued uniforms. The position operates on the first shift, Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with some rotating on-call duties.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.00
