POSITION OVERVIEW:
Ready to put your project management expertise to work on complex projects? Are you great with people and have a track record managing teams that get the job done? Parsons seeks a Project Manager to play a key role in growing our transportation services with INDOT and other DOTs in the East Central Area. The successful candidate, working with our management team will drive this growth, increase our win rate, and increase our sales pipeline. In this role you will be a manager and technical advisor for construction-related issues and contract procurements for alternative project delivery (APD) projects and traditional bid-build projects.
Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your experience coordinating projects through all phases of project inception, programming, design, and closeout will propel your career and leadership opportunities forward. We need our Senior Project Managers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills.
Parsons has immediate projects with the Indiana Department of Transportation and other large public agencies which will expose engineers to a large variety of tasks. Some field review activities may be associated with the assigned tasks, so engineers are expected to be able to travel for these assignments on an as-needed basis.
Other upcoming work opportunities include large scale design-build proposals/projects located in Indiana and in other states, plus civil and construction engineering assignments associated with various projects in North America.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :
Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Thorough knowledge of transportation construction industry practices and regulations.
Thorough knowledge of construction estimating for highways and bridges.
Thorough understanding of construction scheduling for transportation projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, presentations, for client and senior personnel.
Develop and/or review opinions of probable construction costs as part of the design development phase.
Develop and/or review probable construction schedules as part of the design development phase.
Evaluate construction claims.
Perform constructability reviews.
Integrate competing and/or conflicting elements into the planning and execution processes so that project requirements flow smoothly.
Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution.
Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
Markets and secures additional work with client.
Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
Establishes the program requirements for all constructed-related areas of the project design and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.
Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field and 10+ years of related work experience is required. Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as previous project management experience on similar or related large-scope project types.
Proven track record of successful management of highway design projects for INDOT.
Seller/Doer with successful business development experience.
Excellent relationships with INDOT personnel in one or more districts.
Experience in design-build and/or alternative project delivery

Salary Range:
$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
