Job Overview Responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) initiatives, policies, and procedures for the CMC business. Provides direction, oversight and guidance to operations for both sites, enables the education, training and rollout of updated policies. Develops procedures and oversees their efficacy, recommends modifications and updates work practices and protocols to drive continuous improvement.Establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with government regulations, conducting training sessions for new hires and existing personnel and implementing new programs to maximize a safe work environment. A Day In The Life Act as EHS subject matter expert to ensure Safety and Environmental compliance with company, state and federal policies and regulations. Assists with the development of Safety Improvement Plans and implementation of action items associated with risk reduction. Supports and participates in risk reduction activities including: ergonomic, manual material handling, industrial hygiene, and machine guarding assessments. Communicate with governmental agencies, plant leaders, and Segment leaders. Provide EHS evaluation and review for capital expenditures of facility and equipment additions, modifications, or deletions. Provide direction, frequent performance feedback, annual reviews, and development plans for site EHS Professionals. Schedule, lead and direct Safety and Environmental Kaizens. Actively manage Workers' Compensation claims Assist with incident reviews, root cause determination and implementation of corrective actions. Implements and monitors environmental, health and safety programs including injury reduction, industrial safety, waste management, air emissions, wastewater discharges, and spill/emergency response. Collaborate with Corp EHS Leadership. Promote employee engagement activities. Promote the use of the EMS database to manage and track injuries, compliance calendar, JSA's, corrective actions and other key EMS program elements. Analyze first aid, near miss, and recordable incidents to implement and communicate proactive measures to prevent similar incidents. Conduct Safety and Environmental audits/inspections, communicate results, document and track progress of corrective actions and follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented. Coordinate with 3rdParty EHS Vendors such as FM Global, Liberty Mutual, and site assigned Environmental Consultant. Partner with site operational leadership teams to help drive their safety culture, policy and procedure harmonization and compliance efforts and be a primary contact for safety concerns and situations Manage the standardization of training initiatives to ensure harmonization and compliance at each site What will help you thrive in this role? A minimum of 7 years of increasing EHS responsibility with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education credentials in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or relevant technical or engineering discipline. In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years progressive relevant EHS work experience will be considered. Strong interpersonal and previous leadership experience managing a team Ability to travel based on business need (25%-35%) Strong knowledge of health and safety programs and U.S. health and safety regulations Proven ability to influence and lead in a matrix organization Communication skills: strong written and verbal communications skill Computer skills: must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills Problem solving: identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in a group problem solving situations;
