We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated Design Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for developing and prototyping new ideas along with improving performance and efficiency of current product lines in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Included but not limited to:
Support new product development activities from concepts to manufacturing
Collaborate with other engineers, and managers to make improvements to existing designs and manufacturing processes
Design and implement processes, equipment, and documentation for all new projects
Work with physical prototypes in AAR test lab to test and qualify new designs
Create documentation such as 3D models, CAD Drawings, and reports to develop and manufacture prototypes and new product designs
Conduct field evaluation of new products, regarding performance and customer feedback
Develop and direct the testing of designs, such as stress, load, and fatigue testing
Examine materials and production costs to determine manufacturing requirements
Make recommendations to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety
Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for design
Review and oversee the manufacturing of designs
Requirements / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Design, or related field
Up to 5 years of Mechanical/Design/Manufacturing based engineering experience
Precise, accurate, detail oriented, individual
Highly motivated individual that has a strong drive for results
Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks)
Strong aptitude for creating detailed drawings, instructions, and test reports
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent problem-solving skills and hands on attitude
Knowledge of General Manufacturing process and Engineering Materials
Ability to Multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Experience in the Rail Industry / AAR regulations is a plus
Experience in FEA analysis a plus, ANSYS would be of value
