Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

The automotive painter works on the surfaces of motor vehicles, primarily in restoring vehicles to their original condition following damage and subsequent auto body repair, while complying with OSHA, EPA, Fire and Safety Regulations and published company work rules. Ensure quality of work and maintain standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Remove exterior trim and hardware; remove layers of sub-coating

  • Match colors and mix paints

  • Prepare metal surfaces for painting by spot filling, sanding, and masking, applying primers, primer surfacers, enamels, clearcoats

  • Clean and polish painted surfaces including removing and replacing decals

  • Apply anti-corrosive treatments.

  • Assist with body shop and upholstery duties, i.e. repairs and installations as needed.

  • Perform light duty mechanic task such as oil, batteries and tire changes.

  • Provides grounds maintenance, performs manual labor and other related tasks as directed.

  • Assists in body shop, removing damaged vehicle body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, grills, trims etc. and making vehicle license plates as required.

  • Assist in transport of scrap metal and parts to DLA/DS for disposition when needed.

  • Prepare surface of buses, trucks, automobiles, fire trucks and other equipment by removing existing finish using chemicals, blowtorch or by other methods

  • Remove rust and other debris from surface to be painted

  • Fill cavities and dents in vehicles to create an even surface

  • Mask or tape off details and components to avoid contamination.

  • Refinish or repaint equipment using a brush or spray gun.

  • Prepare and paint heavy and light machinery. Determining the necessary application of paint for a thorough coat and checking for runs or sags in the paint to ensure a quality product.

  • Make signs and license plates, bus stop markers and a variety of other signs; letters and marks with various insignia, such as official seals, police markings, numbers, and other identifying marks. Cut stencils, use hand stapler and attach film for adhering solution; and make decals.

  • Account for tools, equipment, and unused material, store in appropriate control/storage areas.

  • Cleans and maintains spray guns and other painting equipment.

  • Document completed work and maintain forms/records.

  • Dispose, recycle, store, and transport hazardous material and/or waste products in accordance with accepted environmental practices within work center. Inform supervisor of materials consumed, and accumulated material and/or waste.

  • Take instruction from shop lead and other supervisors.

  • Adhere to established safety standards and practices.

  • Daily use of hand and power tools, such as sanders and spray guns

  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs., extended sitting or standing, stooping, climbing and working in normal and adverse weather conditions

  • Work in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents

  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and government officials via telephone, computer, and in-person

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices, in certain areas

Basic Qualifications

  • Turkish Citizenship

  • Capable to speak, read, write, and understand English Language “Minimum Level I”

  • Must have a valid Turkish professional driver’s license (Minimum “B” Class)

  • Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation

  • Technical/High School graduate/two-year University Graduate (must possess diploma)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in painting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Body shop repair experience.

All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.

All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.
