On a day-to-day basis you are responsible for all aspects of loading and unloading trucks and warehousing products produced from our production plants, and ensuring facility and equipment maintenance is conducted to maintain operations. In this role you will: * Lead shipping, receiving, and maintenance operations within the facility. * Ensure a safe and compliant work area. * Train and enforce Scotts Miracle-Gro policies and procedures. * Work with all departments to ensure safety requirements and reliability of equipment is maintained to produce great product quality as well as maintain uptime of assets for production and shipping efficiency. * Ensure the shipping and inbound receiving schedule is obtained and reviewed across shifts and lend help as needed. Work with the dispatching team on meeting daily customer shipment needs and processing returned products. * Direct our associates to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance. * Utilize SAP to monitor and maintain inventory and quality, conduct physical counts, and develop strategy for storage and distribution to maintain on time in full delivery; make adjustments when required, work with purchasing to order packaging components to maintain production plan. * Train and develop associates in maintenance practices and loading/unloading procedures as well as customer specific requirements. * Work with the production department to plan and execute preventative and reactive maintenance schedules to maintain a high level of customer service. * Monitor and order services, supplies, replacement parts, and equipment as needed. Utilize systems to monitor inventory and budget. * Manage overtime requirements based on manpower needs that are balanced by the budget. * Set and maintain high standards of housekeeping. * Fosters a team environment and engages providers to drive superior performance. * Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned. What you will need to be successful: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, or related study is preferred. * At least 5 years experience in warehouse, production, and/or maintenance supervision in a manufacturing environment. * Basic understanding of distribution, transportation, inventory control, and freight routing. * Knowledge of maintenance in the following areas: production, equipment, facilities, and project management. * Ability to identify and coordinate outside contractors to complete projects and routine maintenance needs. * Computer skills including, but not limited to, Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and CMMS software. * Strong leadership skills and a highly effective communicator with great time management. * The ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and/or hours within a seasonal business. Including weekends during our busy season. * Strong administrative and planning skills. * SAP experience is preferred. The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $75,000.00 - $88,200.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
