We are currently hiring a Youth Engagement Specialist , to work in our Herkimer Agency. As the Youth Engagement Specialist , you would be responsible for:
Develop and facilitate the Herkimer County System of Care Youth Advisory Council
Ensure youth driven activities for 0-21 occur within Herkimer County to increase engagement in the Herkimer System of Care initiative
Establish and maintain positive relationships with other youth-serving organizations and agencies, and medical and behavioral health providers for referral and networking purposes.
Collaborate with Herkimer System of Care marketing partners to raise awareness of and provide information regarding our initiative across Herkimer County.
Manage multiple youth projects at once, including arranging visits, contacting and coordinating with involved adults, traveling to meet 1:1 with youth, as well as starting and closing projects in quick succession
Plan, implement and oversee the Herkimer County Youth Summit in conjunction with the Drug Free Communities Coordinator.
Develop and disseminate tools and resources for child and family serving professionals that highlight the importance of involving youth at risk of, or with, SED in system-processes
Use social media to support youth engagement
Youth Engagement Specialist Minimum Salary: $ 17.00/hour
Youth Engagement Specialist Maximum Salary: $ 19.00/hour
Youth Engagement Specialist Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, 35 hours per week
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field
Associates degree considered with experience
