Catholic Charities of Herkimer County Domestic Violence Victims Advocate FT in Ilion, New York

NY1491018 Domestic Violence Victims Advocate Full time, 35 hours per week, for Catholic Charities in Ilion, NY, 13357. Days and Hours: Typical Schedule-Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Pay rate: Minimum $17.50/hour; Maximum $18.75/hour Job Duties: Responsible for providing individual client support, criminal justice and legal system advocacy, referral to ancillary community services, interacting with various public and community agencies, case management, outreach and community education/information to schools, organizations, and many diverse groups throughout Herkimer County. Work with social service providers, the healthcare system, the justice system, the education system, government, employers, clergy, volunteers and individual community members to promote a coordinated community response and prevention of domestic violence. A Valid NYS Driver's license and car are necessary. Flexibility is a must.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Associates degree in related field and/or relevant work experience. Knowledge of the issues and dynamics of domestic violence. Experience teaching or giving presentations to groups.

Hiring is contingent upon background and Sanction screening checks, Central Registry Clearance and completion of mandated trainings.
