Summary\ As a Diesel Service Technician, you will be essential in diagnosing and repairing various diesel engines and heavy equipment. Join our team to contribute to the reliability and efficiency of our fleet while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
\ ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other duties may be assigned.\ -Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards\ -Diagnoses cause of most malfunctions and performs repair; reports defects or malfunctions to service writer or manager.\ -Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanical problems\ -Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires\ -Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.\ -Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.\ -Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.\ -Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.\ -Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
\ QUALIFICATIONS:\ -Five (5) years heavy duty diesel technician experience.\ -Basic computer knowledge with good communication skills.\ -Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and driving record investigation.\ -Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
\ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\ -Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach and handle tools.\ -Occasionally requires the ability to lift 75 pounds.\ -Frequently required to walk to all areas of the facility, both indoors and outdoors.\ -Frequently required to walk in or around environments where customers conduct their business.
\ WORK ENVIRONMENT:\ -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.\ -The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration.\ -The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
