The Team: You will be part of a world class Product Services & Engineering team architecting various solutions for business requirements within different product offerings of S&P Dow Jones, used by tens of thousands of users globally. The team is responsible for ensuring cloud solutions that deliver Greater Reliability & Resilience, High Performance, High Availability and Scalability.

The Impact: You will utilize your technical knowledge and analytical skills in architecting and optimizing cloud infrastructure, standardizing technology stack for cloud & data centers, implementing cloud service catalog and service governance solutions, and driving implementation of our cloud first strategy and cloud adoption in partnership with development & business stakeholders.

You will be part of a talented team of engineers in our Solutions Engineering team that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. We are seeking a highly experienced Windows and Azure Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows Operating systems, cloud computing, specifically with Microsoft Azure, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our Azure-based systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Windows Server 2019 and 2022. This includes managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Implement performance tuning as necessary to ensure system reliability and uptime.

  • Implement and manage security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and safety of the company's data and IT infrastructure. This includes managing firewalls, antivirus systems, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Develop and implement Azure infrastructure and services for hosting large-scale applications. This includes but is not limited to Azure Compute, Azure Storage, and Azure SQL.

  • Lead efforts to migrate existing on-premises applications to the Azure cloud. This includes re-architecting applications to leverage Azure-native services.

  • Monitor and manage Azure resources to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Implement automation for routine monitoring and maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure all Azure deployments meet the company's security and compliance requirements. This includes implementing Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, and other security and governance tools.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members. Stay current with Windows Server and Azure updates and new features, and lead the adoption of these technologies within the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server administration.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar certification is highly desirable.

  • Strong skills in Windows Server management, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services. Azure IaaS and PaaS services, Azure CLI and PowerShell scripting, Azure DevOps, and Azure Security.

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.

  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security best practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Able to work in a diverse team

Required Skills & Experience :

  • Strong skills in Windows Server management, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.

  • Familiarity with Azure and other cloud platforms.

  • Proficiency in managing security policies and procedures, including firewalls, antivirus systems, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Experience with backup and recovery procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Extensive problem solving and debugging skills

  • Experience in providing services to agreed SLA’s and OLA’s.

  • Experience with OS/Server Patching and experience in troubleshooting & supporting applications running on Windows.

  • Experienced in Problem and Incident Management supporting a large corporation.

  • Experience with working in an ITIL framework

  • Experience with monitoring platforms and configuration management systems

  • Deploy systems monitoring and reporting solutions.

  • Respond to critical production issues and provide immediate workarounds to maintain business continuity.
