With Azure Data Manager for Agriculture (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/products/data-manager-for-agriculture/) , we are leading digital transformation in the agriculture industry – enabling partners and customers to build digital agronomy solutions leveraging the power of Microsoft’s Intelligent Data Platform and Azure.  

We are looking for a highly motivated software engineer keen on building a distributed platform for ingestion, processing, and geospatial analysis of agronomic data. Familiarity with data engineering, analytics and geospatial processing are a plus. We expect passion for design, coding, debugging, coupled with engineering rigor and efficiency in building features of high quality. 

Responsibilities

This is a broad cross-team role with high visibility. You will collaborate closely with multiple teams across Microsoft to deliver key customer solutions and the technology to support them.  

  • Lead end to end design, implementation, and delivery of the future architecture for highly scalable, durable, low latency systems. You would own the end-to-end life cycle of your features, from inception to managing it live on production.  

  • Build an effective and agile development organization using industry leading best practices.  

  • Lead the definition of requirements, KPIs, priorities and planning of engineering deliverables.  

  • Troubleshoot and optimize automation, reliability, and monitoring for Live Site.

  • Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/master's in computer science or related field.

  • 4+ year(s) experience in hands-on software development using languages such as C#, Java or Python.

  • 4+ year(s) technical engineering experience with designing, implementing, debugging and launching commercial software products or web services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with web services, storage, cloud computing, and large-scale systems.

  • Experience with data engineering and analytics using frameworks such as Apache Spark.

  • Understanding of modern cloud native application development and infrastructure using containers, microservices orchestration using Kubernetes etc.
