With Azure Data Manager for Agriculture (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/products/data-manager-for-agriculture/) , we are leading digital transformation in the agriculture industry – enabling partners and customers to build digital agronomy solutions harnessing the power of Microsoft’s Intelligent Data Platform and Azure, including industry-first CoPilots for agriculture leveraging Azure OpenAI.

We are looking for a highly motivated Principal Engineering Manager with keen technical acumen and proven track record on product delivery to help define the next stage of evolution of our product.  We expect passion for customer, deep product mindset, design, long term thinking coupled with engineering rigor and efficiency in building features of high quality. You will be instrumental in accelerating Azure penetration in the market, by building high scale cloud services, products and underlying platforms that enables big data analytics, ML/AI for industry specific solutions. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering crews for 1P agriculture products part of Microsoft Cloud for Industry, including fully managed Azure PaaS, geospatial analytics platform on Microsoft Fabric, agriculture specific ML / AI solutions and CoPilots. Own technical architecture for products and components within agriculture space.

  • Lead evolution of our products in agriculture domain along with our co-build partner ISVs including some of the largest agritech companies in the world.

  • Be part of the live site culture and drive data driven improvements to both product quality and engineering efficiency.

  • Collaborate with the product PM, rest of Industry Clouds and broader Microsoft organization to leverage and build on top of common solutions and frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/PHD in Computer Science or related field. Previous experience with web services, storage, cloud computing, and  planet-scale systems is a big plus.  

  • 10+ years of experience with designing, implementing, debugging and launching commercial software products or web services, through multiple release cycles

  • 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team of ICs, setting clear expectations/KRs, keeping team members energized, and delivering great results. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or familiarity with data engineering concepts a big plus.
