Job Description

As the Lead Full Stack Developer , you will be working to develop and deliver required product features for utilities/tools used in HVDC project development and deployment, working together with engineers based in HVDC Stafford/UK and other locations. The role is accountable for business critical NPI software development in order to meet product requirements and timelines for future commercial HVDC projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Java and Angular.

  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate designs into interactive and responsive web applications.

  • Develop robust and scalable server-side applications using Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Kafka, etc.).

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs.

  • Integrate with databases such as Cassandra, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases.

  • Implement security and data protection measures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.

  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

  • Manage cloud-based deployment and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Technology or Engineering.

  • 8+ years of hands-on SW development experience.

  • Proficiency in Java and its ecosystems (Spring Framework, Spring Boot).

  • Good knowledge of Core java and Angular and its core principles.

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Understanding of RESTful services and API design.

  • Experience with database design and management (SQL and NoSQL).

  • Familiarity with cloud services and DevOps practices and Docker.

  • Proven track record of developing web applications with Java and Angular.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in an agile development environment

Desired Characteristics:

  • IEC-61850 SCT development

  • Shown technical problem-solving skills & experience.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience and track record of success in working with global engineering teams.

  • Motivated great teammate, self- starter, results oriented
