Oracle Cloud Database Administrator in HYDERABAD, India

Job Description

Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all operational aspects of Oracle 19c/18c database systems including performance, integrity, and security.

• Monitor performance of the database and the database servers; Determine optimal performance parameters for the database server, operating system, etc., and tune as needed.

• Carry out periodic maintenance of the database platform in terms of rebuilding indexes, statistics, software updates, security updates, and service packs.

• Ensure that redundant database systems are properly maintained and available for activation as and when required.

• Carry out database design tasks in conjunction with the software development team and implement enhancements and modifications to the database.

• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and provide advice on improving database performance.

• Monitor database logs and take corrective action on issues if required.

• Participate in 24x7 on-call support on a weekly rotating schedule, including weekends

• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/Documentation

• Provide escalation support for database-related issues

• Share knowledge and mentor junior team members as needed

• Develop administration automation and monitoring scripts as needed

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (B.E/B.Tech Only)

• 3 to 7 years of extensive database management experience with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

• Thorough knowledge of relational database theory, information modeling, SQL, and data organization.

• Proven experience in the administration of Oracle databases.

• Experience managing large-scale databases.

• Experience with database backup and recovery

• Experience administering DBMS systems running on Unix/Linux.

• Experience with database patching and upgrades

• Experience with developing and using automated database setup and maintenance scripts.

• Experience with analyzing query execution plans and tuning the database accordingly.

Experience in analyzing AWRs and troubleshooting query slowness using SQL Patch / SQL Profile and SQL Baseline.

• Strong troubleshooting skills to investigate errors and performance bottlenecks

• Willing to work in a 24x7 production mission-critical environment, including weekends

• Excellent written, and verbal communication, and documentation skills

Desirable

• Experience in automating the management and configuration of multiple databases

• Commercial Certification in Database Administration (Oracle)

• Experience in any Unix shell script, Perl script, and Python
