Senior Engineer - JAVA (Cluj-Napoca)

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that provide Sage’s customers with timely, accurate, and actionable insights from their data.You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to the integration of Snowflake into our products, enable direct data access for our customers and play a key role in implementing powerful BI tools, as well as innovative AI and cross-product analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software applications using Java.

• Provide guidance to more junior engineers, offering technical direction and oversight to steer the development and delivery process.

• Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, other engineering teams, and Operations to design and deliver key features.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.

• Work with QA Specialists to ensure the quality of the features, including the creation and maintenance of test cases.

• Create clear and concise technical documentation, including diagrams.

Requirements

• Solid experience in software development.

• Proficiency in Java

• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly, take ownership of tasks while tracking progress, and lead projects from vague requirements to completion.

• Working knowledge of Linux bash commands

• Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and decisions

Preferred:

• Experience with Snowflake or other data warehousing solutions.

• Experience with Oracle databases.

• Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Kafka-Connect.

• Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and decisions.
