Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare and finish wood and metal products using various techniques Work with a variety of finishes to achieve high quality results Perform touch up and repairs Help maintain and perform maintenance on finishing equipment Lead in formulating finishes using dyes and pigments to achieve desired results Maintain regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, etc.) Foster and enforce a positive safety environment and support all company and plant safety initiatives. Monitor use of safety devices and equipment, delegate departmental housekeeping and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions. Direct the work of the Finishing Room employees - hand out work to shop floor move employees as needed to meet shipping dates involve the Master Craftsman, Journeymen and Managers from other areas as needed. Ship Schedule & Weekly Load List monitor status of all current work orders to meet delivery dates. Provide exceptional finishing quality. Ensure quality controls and Finish Room Procedures are followed. Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and quality. Facilitate finish sample production and sample storage. Develop, document and maintain records for finish recipes. Monitor quality on each work order. Inspect every part leaving the Finish Room for quality of finish and conformance to the Customer s specifications. Understand and maintain a preventative maintenance program for Finish Room equipment. Place orders for finishing supplies and maintain inventory.
