Description
We are looking for a diligent Tax Staff. The role involves overseeing and evaluating the tax department for efficiency, preparing complex federal and state tax returns, and managing client tax return engagements. You will also play a critical role in staff training and development, researching various federal and state tax issues, and tax planning and consulting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and evaluate the tax department to optimize efficiency
• Prepare complex federal and state tax returns
• Review federal and multi-state tax returns
• Conduct staff training and development
• Research various federal and state tax issues
• Engage in tax planning and consulting
• Manage and monitor client tax return engagements and due dates
• Use various software and systems such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Gosystem, and Management System
• Perform various accounting functions and auditing tasks
• Handle cash activity and ensure compliance
• Provide excellent customer service.
Requirements • Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax is required.
• Experience with Gosystem and Management System is essential.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel is necessary.
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Prior experience in Auditing is preferred.
• Ability to manage Cash Activity efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability in Compliance procedures.
• Excellent Customer Service skills are essential.
• Experience in tax staff role within a public sector environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with tax return preparation is a plus.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and developments.
