Description
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.
The Jeffrey Lane residence -- located in the beautiful hamlet of Hurley, known for its historic stone buildings and houses -- is the home to five active young men.
Employees at Jeffrey Lane can expect to participate in a variety of fun activities. Can you play an instrument? Some of our staff enjoy spending time with the men at Jeffrey Lane, playing guitar or drums. And even if you’re not musically-inclined, the men at Jeffrey Lane will introduce you to their favorite music video on YouTube or maybe even a musical movie!
And if it’s not movie night, they may wish to indulge in the latest video game with staff. Whatever activity they have on their list, there will probably be food involved – so if you have a passion for cooking, bring it to Jeffrey Lane! In the warmer weather, it’s not unusual to spend time outside in the beautiful backyard – complete with a swing, trampoline, and basketball hoop!
A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: 36/Sunday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm/Monday through Wednesday - 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 17.51 to $ 19.27 per hour, with additional shift differentials as applicable
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED is preferred
Acceptable NYS Driver's License
